RWBY Volume 8 recently wrapped up, which means another excruciatingly long wait has begun. It’ll likely be months before we get our first peek at Volume 9, but in the meantime, fans of the show can keep busy another way. RWBY: Grimm Eclipse is getting a Definitive Edition on Nintendo Switch! Eight playable fighters will hack and slash their way to Nintendo‘s console on May 13. Ahead of its release, a new gameplay trailer has just dropped, and you can check it out below.
Grimm Eclipse Definitive Edition trailer
RWBY on Switch
RWBY: Grimm Eclipse is a Warriors-style, multiplayer adventure set in the world of Remnant. It tells an original, canon storyline that’s set between the events of Volume 2 and Volume 3 and stars the villainous Dr. Merlot. The Definitive Edition includes all past DLC, like Hard Mode, Horde Mode, and the Grimm Gauntlet. It also features a new couch co-op mode and new costumes, including the Volume 7 costumes for all playable characters.
Beyond Grimm Eclipse, we also know a brand new RWBY game is in the works. Rooster Teeth announced last year that it had teamed up with WayForward and Arc System Works to launch a game in 2021. We’ve received no updates since then, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the pandemic has caused internal delays. Little is known about this project, other than the fact that it’s set during the events of Volume 7.
