Publisher Deep Silver has announced details of the day one patch for Saints Row IV: Re-Elected on Nintendo Switch. Among other things, the patch will add gyroscopic aiming to the game. This update will be part of all digital versions of the game when downloaded, but you will need to download it separately for physical versions.
Gyroscopic aiming is a feature that can make the difference between someone buying a game or not. Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath included it for the first time ever in the Nintendo Switch version, and it went down as a treat with fans. This news that the same feature is coming to Saints Row IV: Re-Elected from day one may convince some of those on the fence to take the plunge and buy it. As far as we can tell, though, these new controls will only be available when aiming weapons, not for general movement or driving.
The Nintendo Switch version of the game has been ported by Deep Silver Fishlabs. It’s said to feature 720p resolution in handheld mode and 1080p in docked mode. However, the resolution will vary in parts of the game in an effort to maintain a smooth 30 FPS at all times.
Saints Row IV: Re-Elected launches for Nintendo Switch in just a few days, on March 27. It’s the perfect game to keep you occupied while you’re stuck at home in self-isolation, and a great opportunity to relive a much-loved classic. We’ll have our review for the game up on the site as soon as possible.
