Play Sega games properly with this Genesis controller for Switch

Consider the fact that the Switch is home to many retro titles, it helps to have a way to play them the way they were meant to be played. No, I’m not suggesting to bust out a CRT TV. I’m talking about controllers! Nintendo released NES controllers for use with their online service. Now the folks at 8Bitdo are doing the same for Sega Genesis fans.

Called the M30, this Genesis style controller boasts the 6 button layout made popular in 1993. The three extra buttons were handy for games like Street Fighter II back in the day. However, it works perfectly well with any title whether it be old school or new. It is currently up for preorder priced at $29.99 and will release on February 28th.

The controller is compatible with Switch as well as Steam, Android, and iOS. It uses wireless Bluetooth connectivity as well as a USB-C cord. And there’s even a turbo button for those times you want to cheat in Contra: Hard Corps. You can check out a full list of the specs for the M30 below:

This is a really neat idea, and 8Bitdo has been known to make quality products. Perhaps with all the SNK games out on the Switch, we can get a NEOGEO X joystick replica as well. One can dream! Until then, check out the best NEOGEO games you can pick up for your Switch here.

Is this Genesis controller on your radar? Which games on your Switch would you use it on? Let us know in the comments!
