Admittedly, it has been a slow news week which is typical for the Summer, but some rather interesting news has recently sprung up.

During the last colossal Nintendo Direct that took place in January of 2013, a Shin Megami Tensei and Fire Emblem crossover was announced to be currently under development between Intelligent Systems and Atlus. Not much has been revealed about the game with E3 2013 not doing anything to remedy that fact either, until now that is. During a recent interview with Hobby Consolas magazine, Intelligent Systems director, Hitoshi Yamagami, revealed something previously unknown about the game: the setting.

Hitoshi Yamagami: “For a long time, I wanted to create a FE on ours times, on the real world. Imagine a Pegasus that comes from the sky and lands on the Building 109 of Shibuya, Tokyo. I always though that would be incredible. At the same time, I know it’s hard because of how FE is. I visited many companies to express these ideas. When I went to Atlus, I was told that Shin Megami Tensei together with Fire Emblem is what I wanted. So, I soon said that to Intelligent Systems and started this very special collaboration. Oops! I shouldn’t say that the game takes place in the real world. We haven’t announced it, right?”

Others: \”Not Really\”

Mashahiro Higuchi: \”Not Yet\”

Hitoshi Yamagami: \”Well anyway, this is how the project was born, mixing these kinds of ideas. I\’m sure you\’ll get to see the birth of a new franchise and new ideas.\”

Speaking of games that have not been announced, if you remember, Nintendo President and CEO Satoru Iwata recently statement during the annual Nintendo stockholder investors meeting that because they didn\’t want to overshadow their most recent line up of games and because of their limited time, they didn\’t get to make all the announcements for 2013 that they wanted. Could this new crossover title be one of those unannounced titles? You\’ll have to stay tuned.

Additionally, as mentioned in the same magazine, Nintendo said that they aren\’t going to announce whether or not they are working on a new Advance Wars game. In other words, they aren\’t going to reveal anything at this moment in time.
