Shin Megami Tensei V release date Q1 2021 March 2021 Sega Sammy Atlus fiscal quarter report Q1 2021

The Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase from last month reminded the world that, yes, Shin Megami Tensei V still exists for Nintendo Switch. No real gameplay details were divulged, but we got a new cinematic trailer and the promise of a globally simultaneous 2021 release from Sega and Atlus. Now, a new fiscal quarter report from Sega Sammy appears to narrow down that release window, as spotted by Persona Central. It, in conjunction with consideration of past data, pegs the game as planned to release before the end of the fiscal year, which is the end of March 2021.

Plans for the release of Shin Megami Tensei V can always change though, as major video games are notoriously delay-prone, and we are living amid a global pandemic. Nonetheless, this title has been in the works at Sega / Atlus for years, and it stands to reason there is a tremendous amount of work finished on the game that we have yet to see.

Before Shin Megami Tensei V though, we still have Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster to look forward to, which received a boatload of new screenshots the other day. Did we suspect Nintendo Switch would be such a marvelous console for RPGs past and present when it first launched?
