king knight Shovel Knight: King of Cards

The long-awaited Shovel Knight: King of Cards is finally out on December 10, along with Shovel Knight Showdown‘s high-powered roster. Extended gameplay previews are starting to arrive, including GameXplain‘s run through the first forty minutes of the game, which went live this morning. If you cannot stand to watch football on Turkey Day, perhaps this lengthy video, which walks through general moves, an early boss fight, and the new card game mechanics, will be a decent substitute.

Shovel Knight: King of Cards and its twin brother Shovel Knight Showdown will launch on Switch and other consoles on December 10. The game that keeps on giving, these expansions will be a free update for owners of Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove, delivering on Kickstarter promises from long, long ago.

What do you think of the video? Will you be playing Shovel Knight: King of Cards? Are you more excited for it or Shovel Knight Showdown? If you do not already own Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove, will this be what pushes you to finally buy the instant-classic indie platformer? Let us know what you think about Shovel Knight, what your hopes are for this next update, and what you’d like to see next from Yacht Club in the comments.
