Indie world showcase Skatebird

The Switch has a great library, and indie games are no small part of that. There are so many classics, like Celeste, Dead Cells, Stardew Valley, and recently Hades, that display a wide variety of inventive genre approaches and passionate game design. The Switch’s pick-up-and-play nature also tends to perfectly complement many indie games that are generally well-suited for short bursts. In short, great indies are a massive component of the Switch’s stellar catalog. The great thing is that that catalog is growing every day, with hotly anticipated titles like Sports Story and Axiom Verge 2 on the horizon. What’s your most wanted upcoming indie game for Switch?

I had a really tough time with this one. Ultimately, I’ve got to give a nod to SkateBird, which is currently set to land on Switch in 2021. I know that it’s not quite of the same weight class as some of the upcoming indie heavy hitters, but what can I say? I need some avian skateboarding in my life, stat. SkateBird simply looks like a hilarious and awesome time.

What’s your most anticipated Switch indie game? Is it a sequel to an existing classic, or an all-new adventure? Let us know your pick and why you’re looking forward to it in the comments below.
