After being revealed to be coming to Switch several months ago and spending a good bit of time as an early access title over on Steam, Skater XL is finally gonna be shredding its way onto storefronts as a full release. The official Twitter account for the game announced that it will launch in July 2020, though a specific day has not yet been provided.
It will be releasing across all platforms, including Switch, at the same time. This is notable since there have been several multi-platform releases that scrubbed the Switch version and have had it release several weeks (or sometimes months) after the other platforms.
Skater XL will be the first game of its kind to hit the Switch. 3D skateboarding titles aren’t anywhere near as popular as what they used to be back in the late 90s/early 2000s, after all.
It’s official! The release of Skater XL 1.0 is coming to all platforms in July & we’re bringing our homies with us! We are so hyped to announce that Brandon Westgate, Tiago Lemos, Evan Smith and Tom Asta are along for the ride as playable characters, and unveil the LA Map! ? pic.twitter.com/8dwilCjjz2
