Smash players intending on sharing their best moments with the world are having some trouble.
Discovered by a NeoGAF user with a Japanese copy of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, the 3DS cannot handle running both Smash Bros. and another application on the 3DS. This not only means that you cannot open Miiverse, but you will not be able to share screenshots on Miiverse directly from the game, as the 3DS cannot support both the game and Miiverse running at the same time. Even opening the Internet Browser is not possible while having Smash 3DS running, too.
Instead, you\’ll have to save Smash Bros. screenshots to the 3DS SD card, transfer the pictures to your computer, and then upload them to the Internet.
According to the Japanese Smash Bros. Miiverse community page:
\”Miiverse cannot be run while this software is being played, so posting screenshots to this community is not possible. When using this software with the New Nintendo 3DS or New Nintendo 3DS XL, Miiverse can be used while playing.\”
Nintendo will likely push this Miiverse capability with Smash to promote the New 3DS / New 3DS XL models, as the current models just do not have the processing power to pull off the same feats. As it stands, current 3DS owners will have to use workarounds unless they pick up an entirely new New 3DS. Will the trade off be worth it for consumers, especially those who bought current 3DSs just for Smash?
