When it comes to bringing over other companies’ big name mascots to its system, Nintendo is king. First, it brought over its blue rival Sonic the Hedgehog. Now it is bringing over an animal that wears blue pants in Crash Bandicoot. Though Crash will not be making his official Switch debut until June 29th, someone has already put him on their Switch.
Back in 2017, when the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy hit store shelves for PS4, an engineer at Vicarious Visions was trying something out. A way to get the Sony mascot onto his Switch. After a weekend of work, his vision came to life, as he was able to get the first level of the game onto his new Nintendo console.
The release date for Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy also comes a day before its one year anniversary for PS4. What makes the two games different from one another is a new level will be playable on the Switch version. Titled “Future Tense” the level is what its title says it is.
A level in a difficult platformer based around robots and the future. Like its, PS4 predecessor, the Switch version will run at 30 frames per second. As far as other graphical differences, they are minor but not very noticeable. In December the N. Sane Trilogy became the highest selling remastered collection in PS4 history which begs this question.
