Song of Nunu: A League of Legends Story Tequila Works Nintendo Switch release date 2022 Riot Forge Games

At the Riot Forge Showcase with Nintendo Switch, Nintendo’s Steve Singer and Ariko Kimoto and Riot Games’ Leanne Loombe and Rowan Parker appeared to discuss the League of Legends franchise, how its storytelling is expanding to new frontiers, and how that presence will be felt on Switch. The event started with Riot Forge and developer Tequila Games announcing Song of Nunu: A League of Legends Story for Nintendo Switch, a single-player narrative adventure about little child Nunu looking for his mother.

The developers say it feels like a road trip with your best friend, and that best friend is Willump, “the biggest teddy bear you have ever seen,” like a “father or protector” to Nunu, but he also looks like he could pretty easily beat you to death. The Freljord setting of Song of Nunu is an unforgiving and inhospitable wasteland, but a storytelling people called the Notai live there. “You cannot kill a story, and you cannot kill a song,” is a common saying among these people. In gameplay, Nuna’s magical flute can make the environment react in various ways to solve challenges. You will also jump, ride, and climb, and the relationship between Nunu and Willump will feel intimate and real. Basically, it sounds really nice, and it’s in good hands with Tequila Games, the developer of Rime.

Song of Nunu: A League of Legends Story is coming to Nintendo Switch in 2022, as well as PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
