Sonic Colors Ultimate

During last week’s Sonic Central presentation, Sega announced a bunch of upcoming projects to celebrate the Blue Blur’s 30th anniversary. One of the more exciting announcements was the reveal of Sonic Colors: Ultimate, a remastered version of the 2010 Wii game. Colors is regarded as one of the best 3D Sonic adventures, as our blue friend has struggled over the years when it comes to his modern games. Although the game won’t arrive until September, Sega is offering some extra goodies with preorders for a Sonic Colors: Ultimate 30th Anniversary DX Pack on the official Japanese Sega store.

The Sonic Colors: Ultimate 30th Anniversary DX Pack available to preorder comes with the following extras:

  • 30th anniversary packaging, including Life in Sonic’s World art book, CD, and special anniversary coin
  • Sumi-e Sonic wall scroll
  • “Tropical Resort” luncheon mat
  • Leather accessories pouch
  • Eco bag
  • Acrylic stand panel

This particular package is exclusive to the Sega Store and retails for 16,379¥ / $149.46 USD / £105.43 GBP. In my opinion, the wall scroll is easily the best item included in the Sonic Colors: Ultimate 30th Anniversary DX Packwhich features a beautiful image of Sonic and the wisps. Hopefully, Sega will announce this edition for other regions, but that might be unlikely, as Sega has a history of keeping Japanese bonuses exclusive. However, we must never say never. What do you think of the items available in this particular edition?
