Yakuza Sonic Mania Team Sonic Racing

Sonic the Hedgehog fans who missed out on some of the Blue Blur’s recent escapades will apparently have an opportunity to play a bit of catch-up soon, based on a recent Amazon listing for Sonic Mania + Team Sonic Racing Double Pack. The listing includes a $40 price tag, an October 26 release date, open preorders, and a short description of each game, but it’s mum on details such as whether or not both games will come on the cartridge or if the Encore DLC is included with Sonic Mania.

Notably, Sega has not officially announced the Sonic Mania + Team Sonic Racing Double Pack just yet, but at just over two months away from the listed release date, if this is all real, you’d expect to see something soon (perhaps on the 28, right? Right?). Still, though, while bogus retail listings have happened in the past, I feel that this one includes a bit too much detail to be a farce. There are screenshots, box art, a price, and descriptions, with no obvious placeholders.

$40 is a pretty fair entry price for this pair of games. Sonic Mania is widely beloved as a return to the series’ roots of high speed, classic-style 2D platforming. Meanwhile, while Team Sonic Racing failed to live up to its predecessor, Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed, and was pretty quickly overshadowed by Crash Team Racing, it was still a unique and fun approach to kart racing that should be a great time for fans of the world’s fasted hedgehog.
