Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie logo release date trailer name

Way back in July, we reported that the release date for Paramount Pictures and Sega’s Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie would be April 8, 2022, and — that’s still the case. However, now there’s a tiny, 10-second Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie trailer to show off the movie’s new logo, along with playing a few notes from an iconic franchise song, in addition to restating the release date. Does a logo (with Tails’ tails in the “2”!) and a few seconds of music really constitute news? To the Sonic faithful, it sure does. Thus, behold all 10 seconds of the mind-blowing (???) trailer below:

We still don’t know completely who is actually returning for Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Tika Sumpter, who played Maddie Wachowski, the wife of protagonist Tom Wachowski (James Marsden), revealed that she is returning for the film. We don’t seem to have confirmation on Marsden himself though, even if it seems quite likely. Likewise, Jim Carrey has expressed interest in returning for the sequel as well, but we don’t have confirmation on that either. The only thing we can say with certainty is that Tails is totally in the movie and the film is shooting in Vancouver and Hawaii.

Now that the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie has an official name, logo, and re-confirmed release date, how are your hype levels doing?
