Mortal Kombat 11 may have come out last year, but content and updates for the game haven’t slowed down a bit. A massive Kombat Pack character pass for the game has been dishing out new combatants and costumes for the gory competitive fighter all year, and now the final character in the pass is here. A new trailer shows off legendary and long-requested superhero Spawn in-action, alongside a confirmed release date of March 17 for the DLC fighter.
There’s plenty to love here for dedicates fans of all things Spawn, though the most immediately noticeable thing has got to be his voice. Keith David, the legendary voice actor who voiced Spawn in the award-winning HBO animated series, returns to lend his dulcet chords to the tortured anti-hero in Mortal Kombat 11. There’s also a variety of attacks and abilities shown off in the trailer that are sure to please Spawn buffs.
Spawn is set to arrive on March 17, and while he’s the last character featured in the Kombat Pass for Mortal Kombat 11, he certainly isn’t the last character to be added to the game. The last few fighting games from NetherRealm Studios have had multiple character passes, and Mortal Kombat 11 likely won’t be any different. Additionally, the earliest teaser for the first Kombat Pass for this game had a heavy hint at Evil Dead protagonist Ash Williams joining the roster, before future trailers seemed to swap him out for Joker. Ash will likely be included later on in a 2nd Kombat Pass for the game, though who else might be included remains to be seen.
Mortal Kombat 11 is currently available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
