Splatoon 2 just keeps rolling.
Sales data for the month of August was just released by Famitsu, and some familiar titles are among the top again this week.
Nintendo’s hit sequel was the best-selling game in Japan in the month of August, followed by Made in Wario Gorgeous (WarioWare Gold). Here’s the full list.
- Splatoon 2 (96,639)
- Made in Wario Gorgeous (90,121)
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (86,897)
- Taiko no Tatsujin (77,761)
- Sekaiju no Meikyuu X (75,834)
With Splatoon 2’s performance in August, the game has sold 2.6 million copies in the region.
Hardware sales are once again following a trend from the previous month. Nintendo Switch beat out the PS4 by over 100,000 units.
- Nintendo Switch 199, 473)
- Playstation 4 (86,061)
It should also be noted the Switch has crossed the five million mark in Japan, which, as pointed out by Destructoid, is near what the PS4 has sold since its launch (6.979 million). If this pace keeps up, Nintendo’s hybrid console will undoubtedly surpass the PS4 in Japanese sales.
