Sports Story switch update news sidebar games

Sidebar Games, the developers of 2017’s Golf Story, has shared an update and teased that more information about its next Nintendo Switch title, Sports Story, will be coming soon. The developer posted a tweet on Twitter, stating, “Everything is coming together now. Please look forward to more updates going forward(;) we have much to share!” Sports Story was announced back in December 2019 as a Switch exclusive, but information has been practically nonexistent since its reveal, aside from its delay last year.

Taking notes from its predecessor, Sports Story will tell a deep narrative while being surrounded by a variety of playable sports. The game was originally intended to release in mid-2020 until the usual COVID disruption occurred.

With Nintendo’s E3 Direct just around the corner, we may see some updates about Sports Story. Additionally, the Entertainment Software Association has partnered up with the International Games Developers Association to highlight indie games throughout E3 2021. Geoff Keighley has also announced that indie games will be highlighted during Summer Game Fest, so there are several chances that this game could appear.

Hopefully, we’ll hear more information in the coming weeks, including a final release date. Are you excited for the game, and if so, did you play the fantastic Golf Story?
