star fox 64

The Nintendo 64 has plenty of excellent games in its library, many of which hold up great and would be awesome to take on the go with the Switch. Unfortunately, we haven’t had too many of the system’s very best games pop up outside of Super Mario 64 (and the various classic shooters and Star Wars Episode I: Racer get a shout as well). There’s no telling whether Nintendo plans to fix that or not someday, but in the meantime, it’s fun to wish. If you could pick any single Nintendo 64 game to put on Switch right now, which would you choose?

I’ve got to go with Star Fox 64. It’s not quite my favorite Nintendo 64 game – that honor goes to The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask – but as an excessively replayable, forty-five-minute score-chasing romp, Star Fox 64 is absolutely perfect as a portable game. The 3DS remake demonstrated as such a decade ago. I’d be perfectly happy with either version of the game landing on Switch, but I have been missing the classic graphics and sound of the original lately.

If you could put any Nintendo 64 game on Switch, which would you choose? Why? Let us know your pick in the comments below.
