Stardew Valley creator Eric Barone ConcernedApe making two new games farming sim not included

Eric Barone, who also goes by the name ConcernedApe, is the creator of the unexpected smash hit of a farming sim, Stardew Valley. If you’ve been wondering what he’s been up to lately aside from cranking out more Stardew Valley content, we now have a vague answer. Barone revealed on Twitter that he is actually working on two new projects right now. One of them is set in the same Stardew universe but not a farming sim, and the other will be vaguely connected to that universe in some undecided way.

However, Barone was quick to temper expectations and ask that fans “don’t get too hyped at this stage,” which makes sense considering it took several years to get his first game off the ground. He says he’s not interested in making “the next indie smash hit” and is more interested in sharing “some of his art and ideas” with the world. That also makes sense, considering Barone is a millionaire now and can do whatever he wants.

Stardew Valley has sold over 10 million copies to date, thanks to a high level of polish, addictive gameplay, and a stream of free updates. Whatever Barone makes next, he has a lot of fans ready to check it out. Don’t hold your breath for any updates in the near future though.

What do you hope this indie creator is cooking up right now?
