Steam Deck portable console play Steam library AAA video games portable portably $399.99 64GB emmc

The Steam Deck was unveiled last week as a handheld gaming device that combines the strength and customization of a PC with the convenience of a handheld. The system immediately made waves with people who recognized the potential of such a device, with many securing a preorder. How do you feel about the system? Are you interested in picking one up? Why or why not?

I’m fairly sure that I want a Steam Deck, but I want to wait for it to release so that I can hear some impressions on how well it works. As is, the nifty little portable has my attention. It appears capable of running everything in my PC library, and having all of that on the go is extremely enticing. Plus, I could finally play indie games on a handheld system without paying a Switch tax. I also would be able to enjoy portable play in tons of games where I’ve wanted Switch ports for years – like a ton of Rockstar’s catalog, for example.

Are you interested in picking up a Steam Deck? Have you pre-ordered one? What do you think of what we’ve seen of the system so far? Let us know in the comments below.
