Streets of Rage 4: Mr. X Nightmare Nintendo Switch eShop release date available now Dotemu Guard Crush Games Lizardcube

The Streets of Rage 4: Mr. X Nightmare DLC expansion officially launched on July 15, but a technical error meant that the game has not been available to the public on the Nintendo Switch eShop. Dotemu has been working nonstop to resolve the problem, and today, the sun has finally broken through the clouds: The Switch eShop has received Mr. X Nightmare. You just have to fire up the base game to locate and purchase the DLC for $7.99.

“We want to take this time to first apologize to our Switch players – this should not have happened and we are tremendously sorry to have kept you waiting,” said Cyrille Imbert, executive director at Dotemu. “We appreciate every single one of you for sticking by us, and can assure that we will work diligently so that this never happens again.”

Dotemu, Lizardcube, and Guard Crush Games have delivered a ton of new content with Streets of Rage 4: Mr. X Nightmare, including three new characters, new moves, new weapons, new music, Survival Mode, and leaderboards. We recently reviewed the Switch DLC (despite its being unavailable to the public), and we thought it was overall awesome, even if it doesn’t really offer any new story content. If you enjoyed the base game, there is a good chance you’ll enjoy Mr. X Nightmare as well, now that it’s finally available on the Nintendo Switch eShop.
