Konami announced that Super Bomberman R Online, previously exclusive to Google Stadia, is coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and PC. In addition to cross-platform support, it will be a free-to-play title with online battles of up to 64 players.
Super Bomberman R Online first launched for Stadia in September 2020. If you never checked it out on Stadia, it’s a lot like Super Bomber Man R that features many guest characters from popular Konami franchises. The main new feature for this version of the game is the Battle 64 Mode that pits players against 63 rivals on the map.
Similar to the older Bomberman games, the battlefields shrink as players whittle down, so if you’re familiar with how it works, you should be able to jump right into one of its 16 starting battlefields. Other new features include over 100 customizable options from costumes, accessories, and bomb skins.
A Premium Pack featuring 14 additional characters will also be available for $9.99. The pack includes characters from Gradius, Silent Hill, Castlevania, and more. Those who purchase the Premium Pack can also create private matches with their own rule sets.
