Super Kirby Clash, a free to start Kirby game was announced during the Sept 4 Nintendo Direct. The four-player co-op game features a team of Kirbys picking jobs and taking down monsters in an action RPG. Players can collect gear and weapons to improve their Kirby.
Each quest in Super Kirby Clash features a boss or mini-boss from the Kirby series. There is also hub town where the players can select quests and do Kirby management. The quests can be taken solo or as a group in local co-op, local wireless, or online. The game will feature over 100 quests, with Kirby alumni ranging from Kirby 64: Crystal Shards’ Magman, to Kirby’s Adventure’s Nightmare. This is the Kirby boss butch RPG that I never knew I wanted.
As for the free to play elements in Super Kirby Clash, not too much is known at the moment other than what we can see in the reveal. I spotted a stamina bar and multiple currencies, both typical for a free to play game. No word on what exactly free to start means.
So far the only jobs officially revealed are Blade Hero, Hammer Lord, Doctor Healmore, and Beam Mage. There are so many Kirby copy abilities that there could be dozens of possible classes.
Could this be the game Hal Labs was hiring for? Super Kirby Clash is available today. Will you be jumping in? Free to start, and like terms, are a double-edged blade for many, but Kirby is rarely a letdown. Stay tuned for further updates.
