Super Mario 3D World

It’s Thanksgiving here in the United States, a great day to think about the good things and memories we’ve got going for us in our lives. While everyone hopefully has plenty of great things outside of video games to celebrate this year, video games can bring about some pretty cool stuff worth highlighting, too. That’s what I want to do with this space today – what’s a Nintendo memory you have that you are thankful for?

My second playthrough of Super Mario 3D World, which took place back in 2017, immediately jumps to mind because I shared it with my now-girlfriend. As freshmen in college, we were slowly getting to know each other better and often found my roommate’s Wii U and Super Mario 3D World to be a great way to pass some time while chatting. We worked on our playthrough all the way past Bowser’s final fortress and came impressively close to 100%, but never quite finished. We are, of course, eagerly anticipating Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury in February.

What’s a Nintendo experience you’re thankful for? It could be a game you played with a friend or relative, an exciting midnight launch for a game (or console), or something else entirely. Let us know in the comment section below.
