Thus far, the slow releases, limited systems, and subscription requirements in lieu of individual purchases make Nintendo Switch Online a pretty lame successor to the Virtual Console. As is, though, it’s the main way to experience classic Nintendo games on the company’s hit handheld device. If last September’s addition of SNES games is any indication, we should be hearing about a new system coming to the service sometime soon. My wildest wish is Nintendo 64, but I don’t expect that to be the case. Rather, I think we’ll see Game Boy games join the service next. Of all the excellent titles on the platform, what Game Boy game are you most interested in trying on Switch?
I really want to dive into Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. It looks like an excellent Mario platformer in every way, and it’s an interesting bit of game history with Wario’s first-ever appearance. I’ve been quite interested in trying this one out for a long while, and it’s one of the Game Boy’s biggest games to boot, so it’ll hopefully be there front and center with whatever Nintendo debuts should they chose to add Game Boy games to Nintendo Switch Online.
What Game Boy game are you most interested in trying if the service ever lands on Nintendo Switch Online? Super Mario Land 2? A certain pocket-sized, monstrous RPG? One of the most widely-played versions of Tetris ever? Let us know in the comments below.
