super mario odyssey

The Switch has racked up one heck of a library over the past few years, from classics like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey to greats like Luigi’s Mansion 3Splatoon 2, and plenty more. No doubt, plenty of these games will see direct sequels or follow-ups within their series before too long – we already know that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has a sequel in development – but who knows what will slip through the cracks? If you could ensure that any single Switch game got a sequel, what would you pick?

I really, really need to see more Super Mario Odyssey. The first game showed off masterful design, a perfect feel, and incredibly inventive gameplay and settings. It was just too easy. I want to see something like what Super Mario Galaxy 2 was to Super Mario Galaxy: a game where the developers rip the training wheels off since they assume you’ve spent the entire previous game learning the ropes. There’s so much potential left for the capture mechanic as well, whether it’s letting Mario control classic series enemies that missed out on the first game, or just throwing together entirely new sets of expansive worlds and challenges.

What Switch game do you think really needs a sequel? Do you agree with me on Super Mario Odyssey? Are you itching for Splatoon 3? Do you need Luigi’s Mansion 4 sooner rather than later? Let us know in the comments below.
