Super Mario Party has sold 1 million copies in the U.S.

Nintendo continues to dominate heading into the holiday season. The latest sales numbers for Super Mario Party has the company standing tall. This latest first-party offering on the Switch has now hit the 1 million mark.

The news came from the below tweet by Nintendo of America. As they stated, this makes Super Mario Party the fastest selling title in the Mario Party franchise. That’s huge with this being the 11th game in the main series.

The news comes after a financial report briefing by Nintendo revealed 1.5 million copies were sold worldwide. That milestone was hit within a month of release. Not only does this bode well for the Switch, but also the Mario Party franchise. Mario Party 10 on the Wii U received a mixed reaction leaving fans worried about the future of the series. This recent success shows that there is still room for a quality party game if done well.

Sales were high despite a crowded October with some heavy hitters. Super Mario Party was the 5th best selling title in the month (not counting digital sales). This was despite going against games like Assassins Creed: Odyssey and Red Dead Redemption II. Nintendo holding strong against game of the year contenders is a good sign of their current brand strength.
