Super Mario World voice

In my book, Super Mario World is the greatest 2D platformer ever made. Its hidden exits, cape, and inclusion of Yoshi make it a title that is as close to perfect as you can get. But how can gamers today breathe new life into playthroughs for a 30-year-old video game? By doing something creative. One Twitch streamer, who goes by the moniker juzcook, decided to tackle Super Mario World in a unique way: playing using nothing but his voice.

Super Mario World with voice commands is a wild concept

You can watch juzcook tackle most of World 1 over at his channel.

As you can see, the crafty Australian uses a variety of commands like “jump right,” “one jump stop,” “tap left,” “freeze,” and many others to traverse the stages. Of course, there is a noticeable delay between the command and the action, but juzcook seems well adjusted to it and makes everything look easy.

Do you want to see something truly amazing? Check out this clip of juzcook beating the boss of World 1 in one take:

Impressive stuff, my man. Now beat the entire game, 96 exits and all.

Enthusiasts, what are your thoughts on Super Mario World with voice commands? What phrase would you use to signify “sacrifice Yoshi for the greater good?” Let us know the answers to these questions below!
