It has been revealed that Team Meat’s super-challenging platformer Super Meat Boy will be releasing on the Wii U eShop at last on May 12th. This is the release date for both Europe and North America. There will be a sale at launch for 20% off. You can check out a trailer below:

Super Meat Boy originally began as a WiiWare download, but was canceled for the console. Now, many years later, the game will finally be releasing on a Nintendo home console. The game also was hinted at for the 3DS:

Super Meat Boy launched in 2010 on Xbox 360 and PC, and was immediately labeled as a definitive work in the sub-genre of brutally difficult platformers. Since then, gamers all over the world have been waiting to play it on other platforms. It was finally released on PS4 and Vita last year and with the Wii U version arriving this month, only the 3DS will be missing (but maybe not for too long ;)) Gotta catch them all!
