Physical releases are less common on Switch than on other platforms, but as digital games succeed, often times they’ll receive a retail version down the line. We’ve seen this happen with Yooka-Laylee, Monster Boy, Rocket League, Overcooked, and many other titles. One of the publishers of such games is Super Rare Games, who recently announced nine new physical releases for Switch.

George Perkins of Super Rare Games recently spoke with Geek + Retro about publishing games on Switch and working with Nintendo on their projects.

On publishing indies:

For the Nintendo Switch, the technical requirements are fairly low. The main difficult arises from creating a marketing plan and helping the games reach a completely new audience. Luckily, every day our community grows and we have helped create a group of individuals who all love physical media.”

On working with Nintendo:

We work exclusively on the Switch and the process has been very fun with them! They are an amazing bunch of people and is very easy to work with them.”

Super Rare Games is bringing a slew of new games to retail on the hybrid system, including titles such as Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime and Mutant Mudds Collection. Are you looking forward to their releases? Chime in below, let us know!
