Today’s Indie World direct showed off a big new Nindie reveal. Originally released in 2016, the one and only time-stopping shooter Superhot is now available for the Nintendo Switch! As surprising as this reveal would have been, dataminer SimonTime spotted an update for the game on Nintendo’s servers over the weekend. Nonetheless, Superhot is still a great catch for the Switch!

Unlike any first-person shooter before it, Superhot sees waves of enemies move only when the player moves. Otherwise, they remain completely still, allowing the strategically-minded players to pause and reflect on their next actions; these enemies are relentless, so one single misstep out of time can spell your demise!

Superhot was developed and published by Superhot Team in 2016 for PC, Mac, and Linux. It later came to Xbox One and PlayStation 4, PS VR and Oculus Rift. The team did announce a standalone expansion dubbed Superhot: Mind Control Debate, which is available on Steam Early Access; no release date is set for consoles at the time of writing.

Have you tried Superhot on other platforms? Will you pick it up for the Switch later today? I’m no fan of shooters, but Superhot‘s unique take on the genre got me curious. Let us know what you think in the comments below!
