We recently kicked off the Switch On podcast here at Nintendo Enthusiast, and we have three episodes out so far. For those who don’t have time for an hour-long discussion, we’ll be releasing short video clips. Each clip focuses on just one fun or interesting segment from the most recent episode and adds some more visual flair. This time around, we’re discussing recent comments from Jim Carrey. Paramount has decided to delay the Sonic movie to re-design the Blue Blur. However, Carrey isn’t convinced this is the right call.
Switch Clips: Should fans influence the Sonic movie?
Jim Carrey has concerns
As a longtime Sonic fan, I can’t say I was pleased with the movie’s first trailer. Sonic’s new look totally missed the mark in my book, and obviously many people shared that sentiment. But should companies like Paramount make sweeping changes based on online feedback? Here’s what Jim Carrey had to say.
I don’t know quite how I feel about the audience being in on the creation of [the movie]. We’ll see what that entails because sometimes you find that the collective consciousness decides it wants something and then when it gets it, ‘I just wanted it, I didn’t care about it. I just jumped on the bandwagon.’ Ownership of anything is going out the window for all of us.
We all share our thoughts on the latest episode of Switch Clips, but we’d love to hear from you as well. Did Paramount make the right call, or should they have stuck to their guns? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
