The Switch’s hybrid functionality won many folks over almost as soon as we got to see it in action. The ability to play on the go or on the TV makes it one of the most accessible consoles ever – you can truly play your own way. What’s that usually mean for you? Do you enjoy Nintendo’s hybrid console more often in handheld or docked mode?

I use handheld mode almost exclusively. I pretty much only dock the Switch when someone wants to watch me play or when I’m sitting down for some local multiplayer. I can’t remember the last time I docked the system for any other reason, even though I play the thing daily and have been cooped up in my apartment since March. Something about handheld mode is just so much more convenient. I’m not chained to any couch, I can carry it wherever, and it’s so much easier to sneak in a few minutes of Animal Crossing: New Horizons or an old NES classic when I can just pick up and play.

Do you lean toward handheld or docked mode more often when you play your Switch? Why? Have you always had the same preference, or do you change over time? Sound off in the comment section below!
