EA has had a rather interesting relationship with Nintendo and the Switch over the past few years. While EA has supported the Switch, it’s done so in an extremely lighthanded way. But, the company may have bigger plans in store if this new job listing for a Frostbite-powerred project is anything to go by.

Spotted by YouTuber “Doctre81”(who has a history of pointing out interesting tidbits that go under the radar) is a job listing from EA’s Motive Studio which is looking for a new hire that is familiar with Switch hardware. Even more interesting is that the description does confirm that the new hire would be working with the Frostbite engine.

Frostbite powers a number of different EA titles on modern systems, including FIFA, Madden, and many others. This isn’t the first time that EA has been hunting for a new Switch dev to deal with Frostbite. In fact, Doctre reported on yet another listing all the way back in 2018 similar to this one.

It’s unclear how far along has come with its apparent progress since 2018. However, since they’re still trying to get another position filled, it would seem to indicate that progress is at least holding steady.

Recently, the company did tease some new announcements for Switch, although no specific plans were highlighted. We’ll just have to wait and see exactly what EA has cooking up behind the scenes, but here’s hoping it’s a better effort than what’s been going on with the half-baked porting job behind FIFA.
