EA’s FIFA 19 will be launching in a little over a week. The series’ fanbase is huge, so there’s likely to be a pretty big scramble on launch day. If you want to be one of the first ones to get your hands on the game, then you can take advantage of the pre-purchase option which is now available via the Nintendo eShop. The price is the standard $59.99.

Pre-purchasing FIFA 19 on the eShop will allow the majority of the game’s data to download to your system. Although you won’t be able to actually play until launch, this will ensure that you won’t have to spend any extra time waiting for the game to finish downloading and installing when the gates actually do open. Thus, you’ll be one of the first out there to experience the latest FIFA!

FIFA 19 on Nintendo Switch is set to be an interesting release. Last year, EA had a team build a custom version of FIFA 18 specifically for the Switch, allowing the game to play to the system’s strengths and make use of its limited hardware as best as possible. All that experience has been put to even better use as the team has managed to make a lot of improvements to both the graphics and gameplay mechanics with this year’s release. This version will retain the impressive 1080p/60FPS performance from before, along with improvements to visuals, player animations, and the addition of all-new features.

It’s good to see EA’s devs have a degree of respect for Switch owners. But, it would be nice if a free demo were released on the eShop. After all, the other platforms are getting it, so it would only be fair that the Switch userbase gets treated fairly. Nevertheless, everyone will get to play at the same time regardless of platform when FIFA 19 kicks its way onto the market on September 28, 2018.
