Taiko drum

It came as a pretty big surprise when Bandai Namco announced not one, but two different Taiko no Tatsujin games will be getting localized for the US and Europe. Unfortunately, dedicated fans won’t be able to get the authentic drum-pounding experience when these titles drop later this year. Bandai Namco has confirmed that the Taiko drum controllers, made by Hori for use with Taiko no Tatsujin games on Switch and PS4, are not currently planned for release overseas.

These drums are meant to be a replica of the arcade drums that you would normally play Taiko no Tatsujin on by smacking the corners and center of the drum to hit notes in-game. However, while overseas fans won’t be able to get their hands on these drums regularly, Switch players will still have the option to use the new “Flick” control scheme with their Joy-Con, which is meant to emulate the drum peripheral style.

Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum Session! and Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ā€˜nā€™ Fun! will be available on November 2, 2018, for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch respectively.
