Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition

If you aren’t too sick of all the trailers dropping this weekend, we have another one for you, and it’s a long one. Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition just dropped its longest trailer yet, at a crazy seven minutes long. This entry into the series has been totally remastered for the Nintendo Switch, and the trailer does a great job showing off the updated graphics and gameplay features. While the trailer released by Bandai Namco is in Japanese, it is definitely worth watching. For fans of the Tales series who played the original, this gives a pretty good idea of what we are in for next month.

What’s new

Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition gives us scaled up screen resolution, events, and costumes never before seen outside Japan until now. We are also getting two brand new playable characters joining the roster, Flynn Scifo and Patty Fleur. Flynn serves as the main character’s best friend/rival, while Patty is a pirate who has lost her memories. Both sound intriguing, and fans will enjoy seeing the new content for the first time in North America. If you don’t mind watching the long trailer, it could help you decide whether or not you want to try it out before buying it. Tales games are known for being long, but worth it because of their unique storytelling and battle system mechanics. Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition lands on the Nintendo Switch on Jan. 11, 2019. Have fun revisiting this classic entry into the Tales franchise — I know I will.
