The sky is green. Cats are humans’ new best friends. And the balance of Inkopolis has been fundamentally changed, possibly forever. Team Chaos has emerged victorious in the Final Splatfest of Splatoon 2.
Pearl’s crew has not just taken the trophy – they’ve conquered the competition in every category. As it turns out, the fanbase of a game about quickly spraying paint everywhere while frantic squidpop music plays in the background really like disorder and bedlam. It’s almost like the event was made for Team Chaos.
What does this mean for the future of Splatoon? Who can say, but the effects of this event will reverberate throughout the next installment in the series. After all, the original Splatoon had Team Marie winning over Team Callie, and the latter aided the devious DJ Octavio in his escape, setting the stage for the events of Splatoon 2.
Will the remnants of Team Order bring about another Octarian threat? Hopefully we’ll find out sooner rather than later, despite Nintendo’s claim not to be thinking about it right now. My money is on Marina going full-on Doctor Octopus and wrecking the joint herself.
Were you on the side of Order and reason? Or did you join Team Chaos to enact anarchy in the Inkling world? Let us know!
