At Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase today, Dotemu and Tribute Games revealed an action-packed new trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, while confirming the title will indeed launch on Nintendo Switch. Before, the game was only confirmed for PC and unspecified consoles. If you’ve been living under a rock, Shredder’s Revenge revives the classic 2D sidescrolling beat ’em up gameplay of the revered original games, but it utilizes a fresh and beautiful new pixel art style.
This new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge trailer focuses solely on the co-op gameplay, which is looking as frenetic and high-quality as we could hope. The first trailer spent a lot of its time on an animated intro that oozed nostalgia, but now we can see the game more standing on its own merits — and still looking terrific.
Tribute Games is the developer of Panzer Paladin, and as previously reported, two of its founders worked on Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game and the 2007 Game Boy Advance game TMNT, both of which were well-received. There is really not much reason not to be hyped for this one.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge will launch on Nintendo Switch later in 2021. Check out the official trailer below, and underneath we’ve included an extra clip that includes a bit more context from the Indie World Showcase.
