Developer Crema and publisher Humble Games released Temtem in early access this year on PC, where it is expected to remain until next year. However, it was announced today to also be coming to PlayStation 5 in 2021. Follow-up from PR confirmed that the game will also be committing to a 2021 release date on Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch. (It evidently is not coming to PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.) That means you won’t be waiting too extremely long to try out a high-quality MMO take on the Pokémon formula.
If you want to see how Temtem will run on PlayStation 5, you can watch the below trailer. If you stand 10 feet away and squint, maybe you can simulate how it will look comparatively on Nintendo Switch.
Temtem distinguishes itself from Pokémon in a few notable ways, though staples like creature collection and dojos (aka gyms) are present. Obviously, the MMO angle is a big deviation from Pokémon, and you can play the whole game in co-op with a buddy. Along those lines, battles are always 2v2 affairs, and the game emphasizes strategy over luck. Also, if you’re into that sort of thing — you can customize your home!
Crema has been quite good about providing regular community updates and staying in close contact with its player base, so when Temtem finally arrives on Nintendo Switch in 2021, it should be a great time for everyone. Let us know if you’re excited for it or if you’ve been playing it on PC.
