Nostalgia is one thing that seems to be consistently in high demand. Thus, companies seek to satisfy that desire in different ways. The method that the folks over at Analogue use is to build super high-end renditions of classic systems. Their latest project, the NT Mini, was first released a little while back. Now, it’s made a return for “one final run”, making this a very limited release. In fact, Analogue’s official landing page for the NT stresses that there are “limited quantities”.
This run contains the NT Mini V2, which sports a “new and perfected NES cartridge slot, updated UI, branding, packaging, and includes a new 8BitDo 2.4g Controller for NES”. It’s a little comical this thing can be paid with an 8BitDo conteoller, seeing that these types of controllers are meant to be budget-friendly. The NT Mini, however, is a whopping $499. But you’re paying for the beautiful metallic materials.
The real “Super” Nintendo – the NT Mini
The NT Mini sports four controller ports, and a double top-loading cartridge slot (one for NES and the other for SNES). Around the rear, you’ll find HDMI, S-Video, RGB, Component and Composite outputs. Thus, this can be hooked up to just about any display; whether it’s as retro as the classic consoles or a modern monitor.
If you got the coin, you can order-one from Analogue.
