The Crackpet Show

If you cannot get enough roguelikes in your life, you might want to check out The Crackpet Show when it launches on Switch in the second quarter of 2021 (that is, if you haven’t embraced classics-in-the-making like Hades). Promising a high-octane mix of co-op shooting, bullet hell, and roguelike elements, the game should be lots of fun for one run after the other. Take in the trailer below.

According to the developers, The Crackpet Show takes place within an in-game TV show. Every level is another episode of an unhinged show that focuses on delivering a “freaky, killing spree performance.” Players assume the role of mutated, kill-crazed animals in a world where humans are nowhere to be found. Citing Happy Tree Friends as inspiration, players can earn clout and trade it in for advanced weaponry with stylish on-air performances.

With any luck, The Crackpet Show will make a mark when it debuts on Switch and Steam next year. The game is bursting with personality and color, and if the gameplay can match the intensity, we should be in pretty good shape.
