Super Smash Bros. Ultimate The Game Awards Banjo and Kazooie

The Game Awards are flying in fast, and the buzz is slowly giving way to a palpable, dull roar of hype. As we all sit idly anticipating our favorites from the year getting the recognition they deserve, games are on sale, (probably fake) leaks are a-flyin’, and everyone is throwing out their predictions for the surprises in store. We’re definitely going to see some new announcements tonight–maybe we’ll finally learn the identity of that last Fighters Pass character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, maybe we’ll get a huge new property on Switch, and maybe we’ll discover exactly what developers like Rocksteady and Rockstar have planned for the future. If you could have your pick for the night, though, what would you want to be revealed?

I’ll go with something that’s been on my mind ever since I saw a recent 4chan leak (which I would bet money on being fake). The leak suggested a full remake of Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie titled Banjo-Redooie would be revealed tonight at The Game Awards. I don’t believe it for a second, but that does not make me want it any less. Loving Banjo remasters from the ground-up (similar to what Toys for Bob has done for Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon in recent years) are something that I need in my life as soon as possible–preferably yesterday, but any time after that will do as well. The first game defines the early collectathon genre for me, and seeing it and its younger brother in a glorious reimagining would make for a fantastic follow-up to the bear and bird’s surprise appearance in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

What would you like to see revealed tonight? Is there a leak you’re hoping ends up true? A dormant series you want back? A remake you’ve been patiently waiting for? Let us know!
