Nintendo’s hit game Breath of the Wild is getting a prequel adventure next month, but you don’t have to wait that long to get a taste! We previously reported on rumors that Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity would get a free demo, and today we have confirmation. During today’s surprise Nintendo Direct Mini, we got another look at the upcoming Warriors-style game, including the announcement of a demo dropping later today. You can check out the exciting new trailer below!
New Hyrule Warriors trailer
Age of Calamity demo hits eShop today
Update: The demo just went live (9:47 am). However, clicking the download option gave me an error message. It appears Nintendo is having some server issues, but at some point soon, this should all be resolved.
The most recent trailer was packed with action, including looks at all of the Champions in action. We even see some of the Divine Beasts blasting and smashing their way through enemies! It’s unclear if we’ll get to pilot them for these sections or if we’re just seeing cutscenes, but I’m hoping for the former. We’ll find out soon!
Having perused the eShop, it is currently not available as I’m writing this (9:23 am), but that should change soon. The Age of Calamity demo will let you play through the first chapter of the new Hyrule Warriors game. Whatever progress you make will carry over into the full game when it launches on November 20, so why not get a head start?
