It’s hard to believe we’re already coming up on The Jackbox Party Pack 8, yet here we are. The eighth annual installment of this party game collection is set to launch this fall on major digital platforms, and if prior years are anything to go by, we should be getting a fairly regular stream of game reveals in the coming months. Jackbox Games has decided to kick things off already though by revealing the first of the five games in The Jackbox Party Pack 8, known henceforth as Job Job.
Job Job is a 3-8 player game which aims to take the ever-stressful process of interviewing for a job and make it silly and fun. To kick things off, the game will ask each player a series of icebreaker questions, which you can answer however you want. These sentences will then be randomly assigned to other players. Then, by picking and choosing specific words from all the sentences you’ve been given, you’ll have to derive answers to interview questions. After this process is complete, players will vote on their favorite answers, and whoever gets the most votes gets the job (and most importantly, the win)! If this still doesn’t quite make sense, the trailer above provides a helpful example.
Remember that Job Job is only the first of five games to be announced for The Jackbox Party Pack 8, and so you’ll have to keep an eye out for more reveals in the coming months. If the pattern from prior packs holds up, however, we can probably expect at least one cooperative game and one drawing-based game. If you’ve never played one of these collections before, you’re really missing out! They have long since held a regular place in my game nights (both virtually and in-person), and I’m already looking forward to adding this one to the mix as well!
