The Legend of Bum-bo has unveiled its dramatic release date trailer, coming to PC and Mac on Nov. 12. However, the game will also come to Nintendo Switch and iOS at a “later” date, according to creator Edmund McMillen. This game is a prequel to The Binding of Isaac, and it is a quite different take from the first game, being a puzzle-based, turn-based deck-building roguelike. It also basically has a Paper Mario art style. Check it all out in the trailer!
The Legend of Bum-bo is set approximately a month before The Binding of Isaac, and McMillen compares the game to Slay the Spire and Dicey Dungeons, except that it’s “very different.” Okie dokie. The game is being co-developed with James Interactive, and Ridiculon is returning to provide the soundtrack.
The premise of the game is that Bum-bo’s only coin is stolen and dragged down into the sewers, so Bum-bo must buckle down, brave up, and plunge into darkness to get his coin back.
