The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening Dreamer Edition heads west

North America has had to wait very patiently for a collector’s edition of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. The United Kingdom has already gotten a really awesome one. Now North America is getting The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening: Dreamer Edition. Is it anywhere near as awesome as what the UK is getting? Nah. *sigh* But it’s still nice.

Dreamer Edition contains the “Dreamer Art Book,” so you can admire the new visual style of Link’s Awakening up close and personal. I can’t find confirmation on the page count, but it looks pretty hefty. It is also uncertain if this book will contain concept art or if it will just be a big collection of in-game screenshots, or both. Nintendo could have spent a few more seconds telling us what the heck we’re buying here. Though it’s possible Nintendo itself has not decided what the contents of the book will be yet.

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening: Dreamer Edition will retail for $69.99, and it is already available for preorder at Best Buy and GameStop. They have nothing to say about what the Dreamer Art Book contains either.

Will you be rolling the dice and preordering this special edition regardless? “Zelda is Zelda,” you could say. And that would be totally true! Personally, I think I’ll abstain.
