The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD launches next month, yet Nintendo hasn’t shown off any real improvements beyond the game’s visual upgrade to HD. It did announce the Zelda & Loftwing amiibo, which offers vastly improved fast travel functionality that probably should have just been in the game. Additionally, the amiibo costs slightly more than what we’re used to, and scalpers have already snagged a lot of them. However, Nintendo’s website now includes slightly more information about what improvements will be featured in Skyward Sword HD, including some quality-of-life improvements.
Here is the full list of improvements:
- Enhanced performance
- Improved motion controls with the Joy-Con controllers
- All-new button controls, allowing you to choose your style of play
- Various quality-of-life enhancements, including refinements to player tutorials and general guidance throughout the adventure
We already knew about a lot of these, as Nintendo touched upon them during the game’s reveal in the February Nintendo Direct. However, the “various quality-of-life enhancements” is where things get interesting. It mentions that refinements have been made to player tutorials and general guidance, indicating that Fi has probably been toned down a bit. However, if Fi doesn’t remind me about my Joy-Con battery level, then there will be a riot!
