Life is Strange

Today’s Nintendo E3 Direct has kicked off with a bang, as it was announced that Square Enix’s Life is Strange franchise is coming to the Nintendo Switch later this year. The upcoming title, Life is Strange: True Colors, will be dropping on September 10, simultaneously with other platforms. Meanwhile, Life is Strange: Remastered Collection will be releasing”later this year.”

Life is Strange: True Colors is the next game in the beloved franchise, this time following Alex Chen as she tries to reveal the truth behind her brother’s accidental death. To help in this quest, Alex is able to absorb and manipulate the emotions of others, at the cost of possibly being infected by them herself.

Remastered Collection contains remastered editions of the original game as well as its prequel, Life is Strange: Before the Storm. Life is Strange follows Max Caulfield as she uses her newfound power to rewind time to shape the world around her. Before the Storm, on the other hand, follows Max’s friend Chloe Price as she learns to overcome her past. This collection features enhanced visuals and improved facial animation, while retaining the emotional stories and incredible voice over performances the series is known for.

I can’t tell you how disappointed I was months ago when True Colors and Remastered Collection were announced without mention of a Switch version. These emotional adventure games will fit really well among the Switch library, so I can’t believe we’re finally going to get them!
