A few days ago, we reported on what was likely a piece of art from the upcoming Pokémon TV series. At the time, the authenticity of this piece was unclear, but I’m happy to report that it is, in fact, real. This confirmation comes via today’s official reveal of the next series.
The new series, known simply as Pocket Monsters in Japan, will feature the iconic duo Ash and Pikachu alongside newcomer Go and his Scorbunny as they travel the breadth of the Pokémon world as we know it. According to Serebii, Go’s goal is to catch all Pokémon, all while seeking out the Mythical Pokémon Mew, which he saw as a child.
While today’s trailer doesn’t do much except to confirm what was previously leaked, it’s always nice to have an official confirmation. More details about Pocket Monsters are expected to come with next week’s episode of Pokémon the Series: Sun and Moon. Hopefully we can make it a week without a leak?
Pocket Monsters is set to premiere in Japan during a special hour-long broadcast on November 17th. There’s no word yet on when it will debut stateside, so stay tuned to Nintendo Enthusiast for the latest updates.
